Electrics
Even though I am a bit handy with electrics, I served a 5 year apprenticeship at H.M. Dockyard Chatham as an electrician, the prospect of wiring up the hood was daunting. Luckily my brother in law is a genius when it comes to wiring up control boards so no shame in asking for his help.
We had saved the wiring harness from the Sierra and also had the Vicky Green harness that came with the kit, unfortunately so much needed cutting out of the Sierra harness and the Vicky Green was not complete so we scrapped them both and designed from scratch our own wiring loom.
We ran in all of the wires and connected up enough to get the engine started and I must say my brother in law has made an excellent job of it, all correctly fused, correct colour wires and relays where relays are needed, he is a bit of a perfectionist so the finished job is going to look very neat. We took the opportunity to run in a few extra wires in the harness just incase we hadn’t thought of something we needed in the future.
I know it looks a bit of a mess at the moment but it all makes sense !! I hope
